There are a lot of f words both in English and Italian. I like almost all things Italian, and Coopers Italian humor is so-so, but I found the language detracted from it.

If the f word doesnt bother you then like I stated, its a so-so performance, but not all that great. This DVD is worth about $5 (certainly $10 max) for the quality of humor. As for Coopers performance style, its not what I really like, but you may if you like loud, opinionated ranting.

If you love stand up comedy, this will be a dvd that you will enjoy and get some laughs. If you love stand up comedy, are Italian, and can relate to living as an Italian in the "old days", you will be in histerics. I bought this for my 83 year old Italian mother. We watched it with my sister and we laughed so hard at times, we needed to pause the dvd because our stomach hurt...honestly. We have since watched this many times and it never gets old. Pat Cooper (Pasquale Caputo) tells it like it was, growing up Italian. Stories of his mother, father, and the rest of his family are endearing and hilarius. If you grew up Italian, you will relate...laugh...and absolutely love Pat Cooper and this dvd. Divertiti!

Wow, listening to this album again 15 years after its initial release reminds me why I tracked down all things Sugar. From the opening cut, "The Act We Act" through the songs that got limited airplay, "Helpless" and "If I Cant Change Your Mind" all the way to the end, there isnt a skipper in the bunch. I tracked down all the singles back in the day as well, since there were lots of additional B-Sides that were recorded. This album is a great cross between Pop/Punk/Grunge that works on all kinds of levels.

Some highlights, "A Good Idea", "Hoover Dam" and "If I Cant..."

Highly Recommended for anyone into great songwriting, loud mixed guitars and great music!

This was my second introduction to Bob Mould. The first was Black Sheets of Rain, back in the summer of 91, when this guy, Pat, gave me the tape when we worked at Tracks together. For me, who was heavy into hair bands and metal at the time, it was quickly disregarded...left to die in the vast wasteland that is my tape collection. A few years later, stationed in Okinawa, JP, I was divinely intervened with this CD. My girlfriend at the time, would play this album over and over again, cruising up and down the island. Bobs lyrics are so real, you can pluck them out the air and the music is a perfect compliment, like a fine liquor to the lips. DOnt fret, that I gave this 4 stars, as it deserves 5 in my book. Its just that I cant seem to forget that girl and the hole she left in my heart. This CD is emotional therapy and to this day gives me goosebumps, "standing on the edge of the Hoover Dam".

The Comanche series of helicopter games has always provided just the right mix of simulation and arcade gameplay to provide huge doses of adrenaline-charged action. Now, with the release of Comanche Gold, players new to the series along with seasoned veterans can pilot the Armys premier attack helicopter through nine campaigns and a variety of single missions. One of these new campaigns is entirely new, and if thats not enough you can use the new mission creator to make your own missions. Other enhancements over Comanche 3 include new graphics that incorporate weather effects, a loadout screen for arming the chopper, and wingmen who react better when the action heats up.

Helicopters are all about down-in-the-weeds flying, and it is here that Comanche Gold really delivers. The terrain modeling is spectacular, capable of rendering lush valleys, rolling hills, jagged mountains, and everything in between. Few gaming experiences compare to ducking into a steep canyon, threading your way through at over 100 mph to shake a pursuing enemy, then suddenly bursting out into a clearing packed with enemy soldiers who send a barrage of tracers crisscrossing past your now exposed chopper. The terrain is somewhat pixelated, but the tradeoff in terms of accurate elevation changes more than makes up for this flaw. Few arcade-oriented simulations of any type can compare to Comanche Gold in terms of pure fun, and the strategy guide included with this package is a nice bonus. --T. Byrl Baker

Ive been playing the Comanche game series since version 1 in the DOS days. I know these games better than anyone whos written any of these reviews. Comanche Gold is nothing more than Comanche 3, only upgraded to a Windows version and with new missions added. The engine is the same, settings are the same, graphics are the same (but with increased resolution), sound is the same, and wingman and enemy AI is the same (though they claimed it was vastly improved). Now many years old, this game is still fantastic and one of the best helo sims you can get for multiple reasons:

Flight Model: The flight model is as complex or accurate as you want it - or as dumbed down and "Nintendo" as you want it. Many settings are at your disposal. If you have full HOTAS and rudder pedals, you can change the many control settings to be very accurate. Top notch compared to others. I can also run this game on a 133MHz Pentium I pulled out of mothballs or on the latest, greatest P4s with gigabytes of RAM, and the helo flies the same without speeding up or becoming unrealistic. Thats how well the engine and flight model were written. I will even dare say that the flight model feels better and more solid than the otherwise vastly superior Comanche 4.

AI: The AI for enemies and wingmen in Comanche 3 (for DOS) was not very realistic, but very adequate for the game. Nova Logic claims to have vastly improved on it for Comanche Gold. I will state that it is much better now, but still not perfect. I will simply call it "adequate" and "average". To this day, however, I still have yet to see ANY game - whatsoever - with a truly realistic enemy AI. Theyre getting closer, but still have a long way to go.

Compatibility: This version of Comanche can be played on ANY 32-bit Windows box ever built, and on any version of Windows from 95 to 64-bit XP. Its beautiful in its simplicity in that it doesnt require any special hardware. It even runs great on old laptops. :-)

Graphics: Fantastic for not being 3D accellerated. Nova Logic got lots of mileage out of its Voxel Space graphics engine. It was pure frickin magic in its day. Comanche 3 had only 640X480 resolution. This versin, however, allows you to use 640X480 or kick it up to 600X800, which noticeably improves the graphics quality and resolution in the game.

Sound: Comanche 3 for DOS was 100% Dolby Surround - not bad for a DOS game from 1996. Comanche Golds sound, however, is limited only by what kind of sound system you have connected to your PC. Comanche Gold also boasts the most realistic in-game dialog sequences youre gonna hear. In-game dialog is an area where nearly every game Ive ever heard fails miserably, with the cheesiest sounding scripts ever written that are read in the dumbest, most unrealistic way possible. Thats the NORM in the gaming world. The Comanche series, however - as well as every other Nova Logic game - gets it right.

Environment/Landscape: Nova Logic did something with the Comanche series that nobody else ever did and still have yet to do with a helo sim: TREES. Longbow, Enemy Engaged, etc? Yawn, snore. I couldnt believe Longbow II was so terribly done. Without trees and cool landscape items to hide behind, a helo sim is utterly worthless and completely deafeats the very purpose of being in a helo in the first place. Once again, Noval Logic gets it right. Trees, nooks, crannies, gullies, etc. The best landscape a rotor jockey could ever hope for is found in Comanche Gold. What good is sneaking around and flying nap-of-the-earth if youre still out in the open with no trees and gullies to zig-zag throgh? You are even able to hide behind and between not only trees but BOULDERS in this game. Comanche Gold is untouched by any other rival in this category - with the possible exception of Comanche 4.

Fun factor: One thing Nova Logic has been able to do that nearly no other game manufacturer has ever been able to do on a consistent basis is FUN FACTOR. They have always provided a well-balanced game in terms of simulation complexity vs fun factor. You do not want a sim so realistic that you spend all your time getting shot down because youre fighting controls that are way too complex. You also dont want to feel like youre playing a little kiddie game that has no realism at all. Comanche series has always been the perfect balance of realism, complexity and fun factor. You get to fly a realistic chopper and blow a whole bunch of stuff apart, and with as much or as little complexity as you want. There are reviews in here that say the game is both too hard and too easy. I rest my case.

Multiplayer: I have played this game in multiplayer mode more times than anyone else I know. It is fantastic. It is here that the fun factor truly comes to light. I know the game has passed into history to the extent that you wont find huge numbers playing it online anymore. Maybe theres folks playing it on Kali still (it truly deserves to be). One thing Ill say is this: multiplayer functionality was always fantastic and worked very well. We never had any problems with it.

Out of the many years that Comanche 3 and Gold have given me in faithful service and countless hours of fun, the least I could do is write up an article that would somehow convey my gratitude for this game. Comanche Gold and Comanche 4 are the two helo sims that I live for to this day.

This game is actualy more of an arcade game than a flight simulator. The helicopter is hard to control and the difficulty levels are confusing. The AI is terrible enemies show now logic exept to continualy fire at you, and your wingmen are useless (which realy doesnt matter as they usually crash or get shot down within a few minutes). The graphics arent that bad but there nothing special and they are rather old. The sound is nothing exceptional either. The menu is almost imposible to navigate and the lack of any real tournament is a big dissapointment as well. And to top it all off the game always changes your windows sound configuration every time you play! The sequel Comanche 4 is looking much better as far as graphics, AI, and a tournament so it might be worth picking up, but not Comanche Gold.

When I first got this game, I really loved it. But after couple intense months of playing this game, I got bored. I even dont know where it is now. Some missions are easy, some difficult. For beginner chopper or flight sim fans, this could be fun. But after a while im sure you will get bored with this "ancient" game.

This is an awesome set. Some people are just retardes and dont get the point of updating 2 Windows XP. This set is vicious, And if u have windows XP trust me, THEY ALL WORK. I must admit that i had and still have problems running SIM Theme Park, but dont worry, SIM COASTER is a better version of sim Theme Park and it works fine. AND those who r so stupid, THE serial code for SIM Golf and SIM City 3000 is on the back of the INSTALATION GUIDE! It costs about 5.99-15.99 an induvidual game so 6 games for $17 bucks! Amazing Deal. The only good about this item was the price at Amazon.com.
I am really glad I didnt pay full price and shipping.
The product does not preform properly and is very fragile. I am 64 yrs old and have dealt with models and delicate items my entire life. Giving this to a child even over 13 is. well not a good idea.
I also ordered the Dragonfly and found it to be somewhat a better toy, but still caution a childs use. Both of these require a lot of space and the manufacturer says outdoor use is limited to perfect ( no wind of any kind ) weather.

Its a pretty cool toy, but after about 5 or 10 charges, the battery life inexplicably went from 5 minutes to about 5 seconds. My 8-year-old loved it enough that shes demanding we exchange it, so well see if this purchase can be salvaged.

Bladestar is a decent flying toy but might not be what you expect.

It is a unique flyer with a novel form of operation. I had expected rotating blades around a stationary center but was incorrect. Actually via two outlying propellers the entire toy spins to achieve flight this in an interesting twist on regular flight. I quite enjoy that it spins like a top on the ground just before lift off. Also, due to its spinning nature, if you get in trouble just kill the throttle and it will spin fairly gently to the ground.

If you expect that you will be swooping about the house with it like it is a helicopter you might be disappointed. It does not swoop. Maneuvering is achieved via specifically timed engine pulses (it does not tilt) which, while interesting, does not make for fast or exciting flight. It takes some practice but you can get it to move where you want, just not really fast. It does however hover better than any small battery operated helicopter Ive flown, being able to hover in place quite well. Up and down flight handles quite well too.

The control takes getting used to, especially if youre used to radio control. This is IR control (for weight savings Im sure) so is line of sight. Meaning you must keep the controller pointed at the toy. If you forget and dont point at the toy then it will not accept any commands. At first Id find myself forgetting from time to time but now that Im used to the control scheme (hey you have to figure one out for every video game, why not a toy?) its fairly intuitive. It does have safety features built in to shut off if it does not receive a signal for a certain amount of time.

It has an autopilot and regular RC mode. I like the RC mode but in autopilot it will automatically avoid walls and ceilings and such (the lighter color the better). Ceiling fans (off of course) it does not do so well with. I just dont like the loss of control but a kid may get a kick out of trying to move it by placing their hands in front of it.

Battery life is as advertised. Controller takes 6 AAs but this is because the toy charges from the controller (much like the smaller Airhogs helicopters). It takes about 10 - 15 minutes to charge and will fly about 5 - 7 minutes - this isnt bad for this size toy.

A big positive is that it comes with a carrying/storage case. So instead of just chunk it in the closet when not in use I can pack it in a nice sturdy case which is nice. It also comes with an extra set of blades and an extra set of propellers as well as the dogfight controller attachment but as I dont have two of these to fight with I cant opine in its usefulness.

In closing I will say that had a paid full price not knowing exactly what I was getting I might have felt a bit ripped off to be honest. But I lucked out and found one on clearance. I hope if you plan on buying one that these details help you be better prepared for what you are purchasing.

As each moment is detailed the reader becomes more and more anxious to learn what happens next and to whom. This book is very hard to put down and at the end I felt like I had gone 15 rounds with Dempsey. The sum of the parts results in a very solid story line that would translate very well to the screen. After meeting and speaking with Mr. Thompson one also has to suspect that there is more than a little of Cleve Delancy in Rod Thompson as their shared passions for family and action are obvious. Copperhead Road is an excellent first effort and this reviewer is ready for the next.
