Amazon.com Review
A great value, this cookware set combines the beauty and easy cleanup of stainless steel and the unsurpassed heat conductivity of copper. All seven pieces are made of 18/10 stainless steel with a mirror finish. Each of the stovetop pieces has its bottom clad in copper to spread heat quickly and evenly. The set consists of a covered 1-quart saucepan a covered 1-1/2-quart saucepan a covered 4-1/2-quart Dutch oven for cooking casseroles, braising, and simmering stocks, soup, and chili and a 9-inch skillet. The phenolic handles and knobs are oven-safe to 350 degrees F, and the pans and skillet have handle loops for hanging on hooks or pegs. This cookware carries a 25-year warranty against defects, and all pieces should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

Customer ReviewsNot classic Revere ware
Rating Point :3 Helpful Point :0
With the purchase of this set, I now own Revere ware made in at least three different locations. I own 16 older pieces made in Clinton, IL in the U.S., four unmarked double boiler and steamer inserts from the same vintage, one tea kettle made in China, and now this set of 7 pieces made in Indonesia, which I just purchased for a guest kitchen.
While these Indonesian made pieces are the same style and sizes as the older U.S. made pieces, they are not manufactured in the same way. The primary difference is in the bottoms. The finish on the copper on the bottoms is rougher, and more importantly, the bottoms are slightly warped. The bottoms can be popped in to be slightly concave, or popped out to be slightly convex, but they arent flat. In addition, the tops dont fit perfectly snugly.
Thats quite different from the older Revere ware pieces manufactured in Clinton IL, whose bottoms are flat and are much smoother. For this reason, you should be skeptical of recommendations for Revere ware which mention how theyve been in use for many decades, since those recommendations are likely based on the better quality pieces made years ago, rather than the pieces now available.
All that said, most of the pieces in this Indonesian made set are serviceable. While the skillet might not be perfect for pan frying, the saucepans and dutch oven should be fine for sauces, soups, or other water based cooking. The copper on the bottoms appears thick enough to even out the heat distribution, unlike the copper plate found on some cheap knockoffs. At this price, the set is acceptable as an inexpensive starter set that will do for a casual cook - or for use until one can afford high end pieces from places like Williams Sonoma, or used U.S. made Revere ware from auction sites.
23 years and still cooking...

This cookware was a wedding gift. I use it on an almost daily basis. Of course, I have more expensive pots and pans but I always reach for the Revere. It heats fast and cleans easily. It is durable and I have been pleased with it for many years.
Revere, a name I grew up with

I always heard Mom talk about her Revere Ware. So when I got out on my own my first set of cookware was Revere Ware, even when everyone was buying T-Fal. Years later I still have mine and I know others that have been through two or three sets. I also have some Farberware just because we needed additional pieces, but I still prefer cooking in the Revere pans. I recently picked up a set on clearance at a local store and I cant wait to give it to my sister as a housewarming. (She grew up with the name too.)
No matter what I cook its easy to clean and I like the even cooking. If this cookware was good enough for my parents its good enough for me.
43 years and still cooking

I was looking at the copper clad Revere because I wanted to replace my aged 10 inch fry pan. Sadly, I could not find a skillet with a lid so, having read one of the reviews that "panned" RevereWare, I indeed purchased Farberware. In the early 1960s RevereWare was about the best available. As I said, my entire set is still in active use after FORTY THREE YEARS. My skillet lost a rivet in the handle and looks pretty bad at this point, so I decided to purchase Farberware because their skillet had a lid. I cant compare the two because RevereWare may now be a bit heavier. If there have been no changes, the Farberware is heavier and of course is not copper clad. (Had I been a bit brighter 43 years ago I never would have requested copper clad bottoms for wedding/shower gifts.) Anyway, for the price and durability I cannot see how anyone can criticize RevereWare. Just get the stainless unless you LOVE to clean pot bottoms!
Not what I expected!

This Revere 1400 Line is very light-weight with lids that dont fit. The bottom surfaces arent flat, and the pans wobble on my glass top range. Steam escapes because the lids are very loose. After boiling water in the pans, spots appeared on the inside surface. I thought this could be the last set of pots and pans I bought, but thats not the case. Revere should be ashamed of the quality of these pans manufactured in Indonesia.
